Parent Resources
Welcome to the Parent Resource Pages. In this area, we aim to put useful information into our patients’ hands so that they may make informed decisions regarding their child’s healthcare. We hope that it is beneficial to you. If you have any questions regarding our web site, please call our office. We strongly recommend Caring for Your Baby and Young Child from the AAP. It is an excellent general resource on child care. We love it so much we offer a free copy to all members of the practice!
The scope of our website’s educational materials is limited, but the internet is limitless, so forgive me for often directing you to other reputable resources!
For an excellent website with trusted up to date info, please view HealthyChildren.org or KidsHealth.org
For great advice from practical pediatricians, please enjoy blogs from Two Peds in a Pod! or Dr. Alan Greene

An easy to reference online guide to know when your child needs immunizations. If you have lost your child’s vaccine record, don’t fret! We have access to Florida Shots, a secure online database. With your permission, we can look up your child’s vaccine record and print it for you. We can also set you up with your own password so you can have easy access as well.
Vaccine Safety
Acetaminophen/Tylenol Commonly requested dosage information.
Motrin/Ibuprofen/Advil This chart can help you give your child the right amount, bearing in mind these important points:
- Don’t give Ibuprofen to a baby under 6 months.
- The proper dosage is based on weight, not age.
- Always use the measuring device that comes with the medicine – not a spoon from the kitchen.
- Never give it to a child who’s taking other medicines unless directed by a doctor. The other medicine may also contain ibuprofen, creating a dangerous overdose.
- Don’t confuse infant drops with children’s liquid. Infant drops are much more concentrated.
Hint: Drops come with a dropper or syringe; children’s liquid doesn’t. - You can repeat the dose every six to eight hours. Don’t exceed four doses in 24 hours.
- NEVER give a child aspirin, or aspirin-containing products. They could develop a life-threatening illness called Reye Syndrome.
Benadryl/Diphenhydramine/Allergy Medications Commonly requested dosage information.

One of the key responsibilities of parents is to make sure their newborns remain healthy during their formative years.
